The Product Development Team at DB Foods celebrated success with its first novelty collaboration with supermarket chain, Aldi, for Halloween.
Two new meat products hit the shelves of Aldi across the UK. Pairs of minced beef ‘Monster Hand’ burgers, wrapped in bacon and matched with a BBQ cheese sauce pellet, was available alongside sausage-filled, puff pastry ‘Mummy Dogs’ with caramelised onion.
“We created and delivered volumes of 26,000 Mummy Dogs and 17,000 pairs of Monster Hands for stores up and down the country,” confirmed DB Foods’ Commercial Director, Graeme Clapp.
The products were a result of work from the partnership between the Buying team at Aldi and the new commercial retail arm of DB Foods which has been two years in the making.
“We could not be prouder in our innovative collaboration with such a customer-focused and quality-conscious brand as Aldi,” says Graeme. “It is also a testament to our dedicated team that has always put the consumer at the heart of our thinking and business strategy.”
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, commented: “We were delighted to be working with DB Foods this Halloween. We love teaming up with new suppliers on exciting, innovative and high-quality products that we know our customers will love.”
